2018 Tesla Model 3
Full Car Wrap + CQuartz Finest Reserve
After Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled the long-awaited Tesla Model 3 in 2016, hundreds of thousands of individuals and families began reserving their vehicles. As one could imagine, waiting for the release of a car you’ve dreamed of for nearly two years leaves plenty of time to do research on proper car care. How can you protect and preserve a vehicle for the long term? We’re here to show you just that.
We highly recommend requesting that the dealership leave factory protective plastics in place or at the very least, do not allow them to wash/detail it. When we take delivery of the vehicle, we first inspect the paint for factory defects. We pulled it outside for a proper decontamination using Iron X to remove all iron particles.
We did a New Car Prep to remove some light scratches and water marks from the paint. Although paint protection film can “mask” some of these defects, we make sure the vehicle is properly prepped. If the PPF is ever damaged, when it is removed there will be a perfect finish still remaining underneath.
The Full Body PPF Wrap
This Tesla owner requested a full car wrap with a combination of pre-cut kits and bulk roll (custom cut) film. The hood was a bulk piece of film and we wrapped the edges to create a completely seamless install. Door edges and fenders were also wrapped. Before the correction, we removed all of the factory badges to ensure there would be no seams on the hood or trunk. We used SunTek Ultra clear paint protection film. The film has incredible clarity and includes a 10-year limited warranty through the manufacturer.
After the full car wrap paint protection film was installed, we coated the vehicle with two coats of C.Quartz Finest Reserve ceramic coating. The coating will protect the PPF as well as allow for much easier maintenance during washes. We then heat cured the paint to 140 degrees with infrared cure lamps. This process speeds the curing time and ensures long term durability.
